LOCATION: Thyboron – Denmark
PBP Services were contracted to provide blast cleaning metallisation and coating applications to norwegian pelagic trawler during refit works by 3xJs in Thyboron, Denmark during an eight week refit were new deck houses were fabricated on fore deck in order to house upgraded fish handling equipment. In conjuction with the 3XJs the works were planned in order to fit in within the tie up period.
Our experienced team from PBP Services were then assembled and travelled to Thyboron and all plant and equipment was mobilised in order to carry out the works over a 3 week period.
Once in Denmark all plant and equipment was setup and PBP Services immediately went to work in order to grit blast all new steelworks as well as other disturbed areas. As the grit blasting progressed the surfaces were then immediately hot metal zinc sprayed to protect against corrosion setting in to blasted surfaces. Upon completion of blasting and metallisation the vessel was then cleaned and a 4 year coat Jotun paint system was applied to all new installed deck housing internally and externally in order to provide a 5 year coating system.
The works were completed by skilled and experienced personnel working 12 hours per day 7 day per week and ahead of schedule safely and efficently and within budget which left the main contractors and owners very happy and satisified by quality of services provided.
